Yesterday morning the red side of Manchester were celebrating a win against Liga de Quito which lifted them up from celebrated European champions to unstoppable World Champs. A 1-0 victory with ten men wasn't the perfect way to become kings of the world but they did it in the end due to a Wayne Rooney strike.
The Red Devils have now got two trophies to their name already this season and will be looking to add some more over the course of the season. The League Cup provides a great opportunity to give them a third title and a platform for the more illustrious trophies. But the players and fans alike know that it is going to be a long hard second half of the season and one thing we can be sure of is that league holders won't be underestimating the task ahead.
